Hulbert-Hanson Mathematics Scholarship

Hulbert-Hanson Mathematics Scholarship

The Hulbert-Hanson Mathematics and Computer Science Scholarship was established in 1975 by Elise Hanson Hulbert and Charles Hulbert. Elise graduated from the university in 1929, and taught in Owen, Wisconsin after graduation. She met and married Charles, who taught science and became a chemist. After moving to Illinois and West Virginia, they settled in Texas and raised their family.

Elsie and Charles Hulbert were great believers in the value of education. They felt that the greatest contribution to young people’s success is the attitude exhibited at home toward education. The two also agreed that the degrees they earned in Wisconsin were instrumental. Their family is proud to continue the scholarship in their memory.
