Carl and Marion Jacobson

Carl and Marion Jacobson

Marion Jacobson established the Carl and Marion Jacobson Scholarship in 1996 in memory of her late husband Carl, who was very interested in mechanics and always wanted to go to engineering school but never did. The scholarship is granted to prepare students planning to enter an engineering school and be used for such preparatory subjects as chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer designing and any other appropriate subjects. Carl passed away in 1986.

Marion graduated from Duluth Normal School, now known as the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and taught in Hinckley, MN. She retired as a teacher in the Superior School District. She was very active in the community, being involved in the Superior Area Retired Educators Association and Superior Woman’s Club. She was also a member of Hammond Avenue Presbyterian Church, taught Sunday school, directed the summer Bible school, and directed the junior choir of the church for many years. Marion passed away in 1996.
