Dr. and Mrs. Ross Stagner Family and Friends

In memory of Professor emeritus Dr. Ross Stagner and Margaret Wieland Stagner, poet, relatives established a memorial scholarship fund at UW-Superior. This fund provides scholarships to three UW-Superior students: an undergraduate senior studying psychology, a graduate student studying school psychology, and an undergraduate student studying English with a focus on poetry.

Professor Stagner’s outstanding and distinguished professional career in psychology began while he was a graduate student and graduate assistant at the University of Wisconsin. During this period he wrote a number of articles and performed exceptional research. He then taught in Illinois, Ohio, Texas, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Dr. Ross Stagner published numerous books, research, and theoretical articles and earned many awards and recognitions for his work. Margaret Wieland Stagner attended at the University of Wisconsin, wrote poetry, and played violin and piano. Mrs. Stagner was a homemaker and typed, proofread, and critiqued Dr. Stagner’s work.
