Dr. and Mrs. Wasyl Halich Scholarship

The Dr. and Mrs. Wasyl Halich scholarship was established in 1989 by professor emeritus Dr. Halich. Born in the Ukraine, Dr. Halich was a longtime Superior resident and one of the founders of the UW-Superior Foundation. He began his career at the university in 1940 and retired in 1966. Mrs. Halich passed away in 1979, and Dr. Halich passed away in 1994.

Scholarship criteria: For an undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior student majoring in history who shows academic merit and financial need.
