Glenn Gerdes Memorial Scholarship

The Glenn Gerdes Memorial Scholarship was established in 1986 by the family and friends of Dr. Gerdes. Dr. Gerdes was a professor and chair of the Physical Education department, now known as the Health and Human Performance department. He began his career at UW-Superior in 1965, and had held teaching and administrative positions at the University of South Carolina, Central Missouri State College and New Mexico Highlands University. He was also a teacher and coach at St. Cloud State College at St. Cloud, Minn. and taught at several public schools. Dr. Gerdes was very active in the physical education department, teaching a wide range of courses in health education and serving as head golf coach.
