The Myrl Bernadine Kremer Camp Horseshoe Scholarship was established in 1963 by Gordon F. Morrison in honor of his mother, Myrl Bernadine Kremer. Gordon was director of Camp Horseshoe, and was brought to the position by the founder of Camp Horseshoe, Doc H. Gordon took great pride on both the camp and the scholarship.

In 1990 Camp Horseshoe closed, and in 2003 it re-opened in a new location. According the official Camp Horseshoe website "Camp Horseshoe is known for its exceptional facilities, meaningful traditions, and unique philosophy which foster individual character growth and opportunities for leadership, spirit and fellowship.”
