J. Edgar Hoover Scholarship

The J. Edgar Hoover Scholarship was established on behalf of George Baxtrum, a former member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, and also a graduate of UW-Superior from the class of 1943.

Mr. John Edgar Hoover entered duty with the United States Department of Justice on July 26, 1917. He rose quickly in government service, ultimately becoming Director of the Bureau of Investigation (later the FBI). Mr. Hoover led the FBI for 48 years, and passed in his sleep on May 2, 1972.
