Jamar Company Scholarship

The Jamar Company Scholarship was established in 2013. At Jamar, giving back is fundamental to who they are as individuals and as a company. They value their commitment to each other and their role in the community.

In 1906, Walker Jamar Sr. arrived in Duluth with not much more than a will to build his own American success story. He found work as a timekeeper at A.H. Kreager, a pipe-covering firm. Walker quickly honed his business skills and bought A.H. Kreager for $600 in 1911. Two years later, he renamed it The Walker Jamar Company.
In 1985, The Jamar Company came under the ownership of APi Group, Inc., a St. Paul-based private holding company. From that foundation, Jamar further enhanced its capabilities with several strategic acquisitions. A vibrant entrepreneurial spirit still prevails at The Jamar Company, which continues to keep pace with changing markets while embracing a commitment to superior craftsmanship and strong company values established more than a century ago.
