Thea M. Anderson

Thea M. Anderson

Thea Anderson’s memory is honored by her children R.E. Anderson and Claire Bancroft, who started this scholarship in her name. Thea was a truly remarkable woman, never afraid to make sacrifices for her children. She understood the value of education and struggled very hard to help her children and family achieve the success she knew they were capable of. Her son R.E. Anderson, also known as Rudy, went to become a prominent attorney at law, and was part of the law firm of Hughes, Anderson, Davis, Witkin, and Fredrickson.

The Anderson’s grew up in Superior, so being able to put together a scholarship that supported UW-Superior in their hometown and honored their mother was ideal. The scholarship continues to help students today and honors the memory of Thea Anderson, a devoted mother, who knew the value of a good education.

The scholarship was established in 1968.
